Error: 'MAPI was unable to load the information service PSTPRX.DLL..'

Topic T1028 Applies to All NEO products


Problem

This error can occur if Outlook is not specified as your "default mail client".


Resolution

  1. Close all mail-aware applications (NEO, Outlook, etc.).
  2. Click Start | Settings | Control Panel, then double-click Internet Options.
  3. Click the Programs tab along the top.
  4. In the E-mail list, select Microsoft Outlook. Please do not select Outlook Express.
  5. Start NEO.
If the above does not succeed, or if the default client is already Outlook, please try the following:

  1. Close Outlook and NEO.
  2. Locate a utility program on your computer called FIXMAPI.EXE. Easiest way to find it is to use Windows Find. When found, double-click it to run it. It will probably run quickly and may not produce any visible results.
  3. Start NEO.
